Magic Alumni Shining In College

DIVISON I

Avery Wukawitz received All-Summit First Team honor for the second year in a row after finishing the season with a .304 batting average and 7 home runs. Last year she was 2023 Summit League Newcomer of the Year.

Torri Chute (Augustana University) had an incredible career marked by numerous awards and remarkable achievements.

Bob Bartel (Concordia St. Paul) was awarded NSIC Coach of the Year. He led the Bears to a program best 14-0 start in conference play. As the all-time wins leader in CSP softball history, he will enter his 21st season at Concordia in 2025.

DIVISON III

Cat Smetana (St. Ben’s) was named to the MIAC All-Conference Team, MIAC All-Playoff Team, and CSC Academic All-District Team. She hit .355 on the season with 50 hits and a 13-game hitting streak. She also holds her own in the classroom with a 3.5+ GPA!

Jenna Rubbelke plays both softball and volleyball at Hamline University. She earned Hamline University Female Athlete of the Year and secured MIAC All-Conference for the third year! After defying all odds after battling through injury, she finished with a .412 batting average and ended the season with a 26-game hit streak!

Kayla Simacek of Bethel Softball stacked up the accolades: 6-time MIAC Pitcher of the Week (just this year), MIAC All-Conference Team (4x), NFCA All-Region First Team (4x), and NFCA First Team All-American (3x). She ended her career with 1,193 strikeouts, securing her spot as ninth all-time in Division III. Breaking records and making history – what a career! 

Autumn Earney (Bethel) earned MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention! Ending the season with a stellar .320 batting average and starting all 44 games at shortstop – Autumn’s skill has truly shined this season!
